OPERATION HOPE 9/27/07

OPERATION HOPE – KUWAIT
A Mission of Mercy

September 27, 2007

Greetings Brothers and Sisters!

It's that time of year again ~ OH is preparing for this winter's outreach campaign! Blessed anticipation courses through my veins as I write to you today!! Eight thousand men and women is our goal. I know that number is large ~ huge, in fact ~ but I am faithful that it shall be. Five thousand coats and thermal underwear sets are presently in route and will hopefully arrive within ten days. My heart's desire is that we will be able to have our first "coat packing party" by Eid. I'll be sure to let you know when our shipment has arrived.

Thanks to OH Publicist, Pam Nixon news of our mission has re-emerged in the local English papers, and will be featured in an upcoming issue of Bazaar Magazine (most likely in November). The BLS has invited me to share the OH vision with their members and guests on the evening of October 2nd. I look forward to their commitment this season! Additionally I will be meeting with board members of the Indian Women's Association of Kuwait this week to discuss their participation in this year's mission.

I would like to invite schools to consider fundraising, purchasing the coats and then packing them under OH supervision. What a great community service opportunity this would be for today's youth ~ and all under the roof of their respective schools!

Kathy Nicholson has accepted the responsibility of managing our volunteers. By doing so this means that all volunteer RSVP's will be sent to her at our new volunteer email address: ohvolunteer@yahoo.com . News of our volunteer needs will be forthcoming and I am hopeful that we'll have another year of great physical support.

A brand new web-site is being developed! Thanks to our accountant-extraordinaire Denise Al Shammari we should have a fresher look on the world-wide-web very soon, which will also feature a link to an exclusive OH blog.

I am blessed beyond words that we are entering into our 3rd season of serving the poor in Kuwait, and even more blessed to know that so many men, women, and children wish to alleviate some of the suffering and indignities our third-country-national brothers and sisters often times endure. I pray this season we'll be able to reach out to those in greatest need and thank God in advance for what He is about to do with OPERATION HOPE – KUWAIT!

Please share our vision with your friends, family, and colleagues. Help to change the life of someone living in despair right here in your own backyard – Kuwait. And remember, "you shall pass this way but once. Therefore, any good you can do or any kindness that you can show let it be done now, for you shall not pass this way again."

God bless,

Sheryll Mairza
